I am blessed with living with five cats. They are a family consisting of a mother and her litter of four that I had since the litter team were 2 weeks old. With them, I have been on a journey of discovery of our instinctive nature. Below are highlights of a few life lessons that resonate as key learning points.
1. Trust
.. that you’ll be provided for. But under one condition; you have to be on a daily quest for adventure. Every single day is a day full of adventures and excitement. A day of exploration, observation, movement and hunting.
2. Be Brave
.. and seize the momentum. Go for it! Sometimes attack is the best defence.
3. Be Present
.. and attentive. Engage with your surroundings. Live the moment to its fullest. When hunting, cats are fully attentive to their prey and their next moves. When playing, they fully immerse themselves in the play and enjoy it. When sleeping, they are fully into it they make you want to sleep.
4. Be Inquisitive
..most of the times, it won’t kill you. You will have new experiences every day and an exciting day to live.
5. Meditate
.. meditate and meditate. It’s crucial to help you stay present. No day passes by without a cat meditating - being still, awrae and present but focused elsewhere without wishing to be disturbed.
6. Listen To Your Body
… if you need to rest, rest. If you need to sleep, sleep. It’s likely that this ability to respond to their bodies’ needs gives cats their amazing resilience.al.
7. Stay Clean & Majestic
… cats spend a sizeable percentage of their awake time cleaning themselves. Every day.. This keeps them clean, immune to disease, fresh and majestic.
